To ensure an accurate measurement of your gutters, it is essential to add a minimum of 250mm to each individual gutter length when calculating the total meterage required. This extra length accounts for necessary overlaps in the mesh required during installation and provides leeway for any adjustments needed when cutting the mesh.

For safety and precision, we recommend measuring each gutter length from the ground. Should you need to measure from the roof, please exercise extreme caution.

Regarding valley measurements, measure from the roof capping down to the outside edge of your external standard guttering. When measuring the valleys, if possible, measure from a securely placed ladder. If roof access is necessary, ensure you take extreme caution and use appropriate safety precautions, such as a roof safety harness.

Please be advised that we will supply you with the exact amount of metres of mesh you order. We do not provide additional material beyond what is ordered. To accommodate any offcuts and overlaps, we suggest ordering a slightly larger quantity than your measurements indicate.

When installing Gutter Guard, the use of saddles is highly recommended. Saddles serve the crucial role of pressing the mesh down into the low point of each corrugation/rib, ensuring that your gutters are effectively sealed against debris entering from beneath the mesh.

For installations on valleys, where the angle of the roof sheeting presents unique challenges, saddles will be provided for each corrugation/rib. This ensures a complete and secure seal across your roof. As a cost-effective alternative, you may opt not to use saddles. In this case, installation involves placing a screw on each side of every corrugation/rib, approximately 15mm from the bottom of the corrugation/rib. This method helps conform the mesh to the shape of the corrugations/ribs. However, it is important to note that placing screws in the pan of the corrugation/ribs is not advisable.
